What parents are saying about SHA.

“We switched our 3-year old twins to South Hills Academy initially because it had a great energy/feel to it compared to where we were. It sounds crazy to base a decision on a gut feeling for our most valuable assets - our kids. However, our instinct was right. The results were better than we expected. Our kids came home every day with great stories of what we did, which means they were having fun! Even better, their academic skills progressed at an amazing rate. We also can tell they are around great spiritual role modeling because they imitate those behaviors at home. When it was time to renew from preschool to kindergarten, it was easy for us to choose to stay because of the teacher they were going to get and because they introduced a STEM curriculum. In short, they rock and we feel blessed to have our kids attend SHA!

“As a working single mom I have always made it my first priority to have a place where my daughter can learn, be safe, have fun, and be loved just as I would do. South Hills Academy has been that place for me for the last two years. I feel comfortable knowing my daughter is happy and healthy and thriving while I have to be away at work. South Hills Academy has given my daughter and I all of that and so much more. We are extremely grateful for all that they have done and continue to do.”

“We love SHA!! My son is a full time student. He started there in preschool, then summer program and now he will be going to pre-k! I was so nervous the first day my son started because he was watched by his grandma and I didn’t know how he would like it but he LOVED it!! He actually looks forward to going to school. The director and assistant director are awesome! They always take the time to talk to you and ask you how things are going. The teachers are absolutely amazing! Each teacher makes it a point to get to know your child (even if they aren’t in their class). They know all the kids by name and ALWAYS say hi in passing! The teachers and staff are very kind and loving towards the children. The curriculum is above standard and they do several fun-learning activities! My son has learned more than I ever imagined he would in his first year! The class sizes are small so you can rest assure your child will get the attention they deserve! Oh and not to mention, very affordable compared to some of the other schools around! We highly recommend SHA!!!”

Our son started SHA right after his second birthday. For the last few years he has been so excited to go to school, he has been ready to leave the house before they are even open for early extended care. There are small class sizes which allow for individualized attention while providing social interaction for the kids.  Our son is beyond ready for First Grade next year and has made friends he will have for many years. Our youngest just recently started and we look forward to many more years at SHA.

"We knew South Hills Academy was the school for our daughter when at our tour of the school, my daughter felt so welcomed and comfortable that she joined the class in session and sat right in the teachers lap.  It was clear from that day on, she would be educated in a caring and loving environment.  My child would come home to tell us all about her day and was excited to share about topics such as physics, art and science, and about different cultures from around the world.  The STEM curriculum and strong foundation set by SHA has allowed her to excel and thrive academically and socially as she entered 1st grade this year and nurtured her love for learning.

With my second child, there was no question we would enroll her in SHA so she too could benefit from the SHA experience.  Sad to say we only have one more year at SHA.  We have definitely benefited from the high quality childhood education provided by all the teachers and staff and the community of parents which we now call friends.”

“”We enrolled our daughter at SHA in the kindergarten class in 2019. I’m an educator and we all know that famous saying, “if you can’t teach your own kids, teach other people’s kid!” That was us in that case, she didn’t want me to teach her anything and every time we would try to, it was a constant struggle. Going into kindergarten, she barely knew her letters and sounds. After the first month, she was able to recognize all her letters and sounds and started reading by the end of fall! We were very impressed and she continued to progress nicely. She had two very nurturing teachers who supported her goals and acknowledged her achievements that influenced my daughter’s confidence!! Although she didn’t get to finish out the school year due to COVID, she enjoyed her time at SHA and learned all the necessary beginning skills that has made her successful in the first grade! The kindergarten program at South Hills Academy is a well-rounded program that I highly recommend for a bright beginning to your child’s academic journey”
